Michael “Flourhands” Scott is a self-taught baker who grew up in the small coastal town of Oakridge, where the scent of fresh bread filled his childhood home. After stumbling upon an old family recipe book, he became obsessed with the art of breadmaking, particularly sourdough. What started as a hobby turned into a passion when Michael quit his corporate job to open “Carter’s Crust,” a neighborhood bakery known for its artisan loaves and rustic pastries. His dedication to using locally sourced grains and ancient techniques has earned him a loyal following. Today, Michael is a celebrated figure in the baking community, known for his innovative takes on traditional recipes.
